white clouds and blue sky

Hi, I'm Amy-Alyce

Gentle Unlearning is a space for those who are done surviving and ready to remember who they are.

For those tired of overworking, stressful relationships, and the silent pressure to be “fine” when you’re not.

Here, we gently untangle the roles, beliefs, and patterns you were taught as a child.

This isn’t just unlearning.

It’s a return to who you’ve always been before the world taught you to be small.

Why I created Gentle Unlearning

I created Gentle Unlearning because I couldn’t keep pretending that I was fine.

I spent eight years in China being a great teacher, giving my all, and quietly burning out.

Noticing the educational system focuses on performance, productivity, and outcomes. As my awareness grew, I realised we weren't given the tools, language, or support to regulate, or rest.

Outside of work, I tried many methods for relaxation. Yoga. Mindfulness. Meditation. Journaling. Manifestation. I read many self-help books, trying to fix what I thought was broken in me.

It wasn’t until I began practicing neurolinguistic programming (NLP) that things started to really change. It helped me understand how to listen to my body, my thoughts, my patterns and make sense of the way I’d been surviving.

That was the turning point for my alignment.

I realized I didn’t need more fixing... I needed unlearning.
Unlearning the shame that said I needed permission to be myself.

This is the work I had to do to find myself again.

Now I offer it to others, so you don’t have to walk that path alone.

This is the space I wish I had. Now, it’s here for you. Not sure if this space is for you?

Founder of Gentle Unlearning

The Four As

All of my teachings, reflections, and offerings are guided by these four gentle pillars:

Awareness

Alignment

Action

Awareness is the gentle beginning.

In this pillar, we slow down to notice the patterns you’ve been living

We listen to:
What hurts?
What’s hoping to be seen?

What does this feeling mean?
Where have I not been showing up for myself?

This is where you begin to truly see yourself with compassion. It’s the first step of unlearning survival.

Alignment is the gentle adjustment.

In this pillar, we move from noticing to choosing.

We begin to ask:
What do I value?
What feels right to me?
What do I need to feel safe in my body?
How can I build more trust in myself?

This is where you move from the noise of external expectations to the song of your own wisdom.

Action is the gentle motion.

In this pillar, we mould your awareness and alignment into your daily life.

We explore:
What does it look like to live in a way that feels good to my nervous system?
How does it sound to speak up for myself, even when it feels vulnerable?
How can I make choices that honor my body’s yes and no?

This is where you start to live your healed choices, gently and truthfully, step by step.

This is the work of gentle unlearning: letting your healing move through your voice, your boundaries, your relationships, and your choices.

One small act of self-trust at a time.

Insights to help you remember you’re never alone in your becoming.

Agency

Agency is the quiet power of choice.

In this pillar, we begin to remember that your story is your own.

We look for:
Where do your boundaries need to be strengthened?
What choices feel right to you?
What small, brave step can you take today?

This is where you begin to make decisions from self-trust, and step into the seat of your own life.
